Create a Facebook page
The first thing you would want to do is create a Facebook page. Creating a Facebook page is a very easy thing to do.Log into your personal Facebook account. Click on the small downward-facing arrow and select pages. You will have the option to select an existing page or create a new page if you do not have one already. Once you have successfully created our Facebook page which I assume you have already done successfully proceed to the next step.
Create a custom URL or username for your Page
This really inst very important, yet still it makes your brand easier to recognize. You can easily create a custom username or URL for your Facebook page by navigating to the profile picture a the left-hand side of your page. Click on the @username to create a new username. Select a name directly related to your website for your own convenience. If you still do not want to create a custom domain name for your page then move on to the next step.
Purchase a new domain
I assume most of you do have a domain name already. If you do not have a domain name already you can purchase one at a very good price via Namecheap, Namesilo, or GoDaddy. If you ar e a Ghanaian looking for a more native option you can purchase a domain name from Ovationhall, Stomerhost or Nakroteck. With just roughly sixty cedis on average, you can get yourself a domain name in no time.
Select manage domain in your domain registrar control Panel
Ok now you already have your own personal or business domain name, how do you actually link it to your Facebook page. Depending on the registrar you used in my case Goddady navigate to manage the domain. This is the same for every registrar so do not be alarmed or worried.
Click on connect to an existing site
Select the domain name you want to manage. Navigate to connect to an existing site tab. If that option is not available in your domain registrar jut to look for the “forward domain name” tab and you are good to go.
Select Facebook and enter your Facebook Page URL
Depending on your domain registrar you will have the option to connect to a social media website or handle. If you are using Godaddy select Facebook. If you do not have that option then select forward to another domain or URL. Paste the URL of your Facebook page into the space provided.
Confirm the Forwarding or Redirection
Before the propagation can be done you must finally confirm the forwarding. Simply click on the Finish tab to complete the transfer. after this last step, your domain should be linked to your Facebook page instantly. Open a new tap and check that your domain is properly forwarded to your Facebook page.
